News & Recaps

Week 5
- In the battle of the unbeatens, there can be only one. ATL Cromarties Kids did his best Conner MacLeod impersonation and claimed The Prize of the last remaining perfect record with a convincing 200+ point victory.
- On the other end of the table, Team Rebs and Red Daddy finally picked up a W ending any hope for a perfect season long streak of Ls. Fun fact: the other two 1-4 teams in Table 5 notched their single wins agains the same opponent, Atlanta Isotopes.
- Congrats to this week's new member of the BB club, ATL Cromarties Kids, thanks to <checks notes> ...Dak Prescott?? Despite only being QB5 on the week, Dak earns the BB nod by virtue of only being outscored by two bench QBs (Victorious Secret's Mahomes and Isotope's Mayfield) and two sitting on waivers (Darnold and Stroud). The award has to go to someone, so good on you, Cromartie!
- All eyes will be on the competitive Uptown division this week, as half the division faces teams with a combined 9-1 record, while the other half faces teams that only muster a combined 3-7. Will this week be a cricual turning point? Stay tuned.
- New website feature alert! As suggested by Marg ariño, the season BB page now features the ability to click on the BB leaders to see the full list of their BB awards, grouped by week. Check it out for insights like, "Oh, Team jurgena has won the Biggest Loser BB for every loss!" or "Wow, Castleberry Panthers have hit for the cycle this season, winning exactly one of each BB award!"
Weeks 1 & 2
Another season is off to the races, and we've already had some spicy results. Let's get right to it...
- Half of this week's matchups were decided by less than 2 points. Unlucky losers Team jurgena, Atlanta Isotopes, and Mew Kitties had a total of 8 bench players that could have been the difference in their matchups if started.
- Speaking of regrets, six teams had a bench QB outscore their starter.
- Out of respect for Team Rebs, we won't devote an entire paragraph to how two of her players are already on IR and four more are questionable for week 3. At least Tua put in a top 50% QB performance and week 2 and should have plenty of passing opportunities after falling behind early in their coming matchup against the Bills. OTOH, that's what they said about the Jet's Justin Fields last week. Spoiler alert: He put up negative points through the first three quarters and then got knocked out of the game with a concussion. Yikes.
- Is anything less American than a tie? BBs history was made this week after Victorious Secret and Team jurgena's top WRs, Nabers and St. Brown, respectively, finished with exactly 42.6 points. Although this is a first for BBs, there was a tie in the Swede-Bucks era when Aaron Jones (Last Call) and Austin Ekeler (Red Daddy) both finished with 28.2 points in week 8 of the 2021 season. It was a simpler time.
